Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis

From: Plantguys   (Sat 10 May 2003 09:49:44 PM CEST)
Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis, Common Names: Matt Grass. Region found: South America. Height: 4-7cm. Width: 5+ cm. Light: High-Very High. Temp: 15-26C. Hardness: Soft-Hard. pH: 6-8. Speed of growth: Slow. Demands: Difficult. A difficult plant to grow unless enough light is given to it. If given enough light this is a great foreground plant that many use for that carpet effect. I have found this plant does better with CO2 addition and good fertiliser levels. To promote a faster growth with this plant, after it has established itself in your tank only, pruning can be done in two ways: Take a pair of scissors and cut downwards into your substrate, cutting advantageous shoots. This will promote more advantageous shoots to develop. Also every once in a while trim the “Grass” down like a lawnmower does, only by half the height at most. Again this will promote new growth in the plant.
