You can see a peat-bomb on the image and this is a development from the peat-bucket. I constructed this stainless-steel can by using the knowledge from my job. It is in principle a common tight container with a entrance and a exit for the water. I have welded a lid which easily can be removed, so you can change the peat. I have welded a crane on the lid and a crane under the bottom for incoming and outgoing water. I have also put a layer of some filter-plates inside the can, because that the peat not should flow out. After this you fill the can with peat and you place some filter-plates in the other end because of the same reasons and tight the can with the lid. You make the water go in under the can and control the water-level with the crane. You have a better control and don`t need to worry about overflow with this method. You can control the water-quality by opening and closing the crane. I have tested to fill a can with a full flow and this works surprisingly well. You get different kind of pH-value and softness in the water depending on what kind of peat you are using. Some of the peat lets through more than others and you have to test which one you want to have.
