1. The DPH Discus-Sion Forum is intended, of course, for discussions about the Discus fish, other aquarium related subjects and the discus keeper in the desiginated sub forums.

2. Do not state your opinions as fact - doing this will get you into trouble with other members who disagree. It is suggested to use IMO for In My Opinion or IME for In My Experience and ABOVE ALL ELSE BE POLITE.

3. DO NOT bash the subjects. No matter how bad YOU may think they are; REMEMBER there may well be people out there who like the subject and its contents. If you need to criticize a Subject, do that, criticize - give reasonable explanations for why you feel the way you do about the subject NOT the person and again, be POLITE when doing this.

4. Tone is key! Comments should always be factual, spoken gently, never in anger. Your comments should be of benefit to those spoken to; in reply to their questions; and to the board readers in general.

5. Commercial "announcements, ads, links to commercial web sites, etc." are forbidden to be posted by users in the main forum. Only Moderators may place them on the forum.

6. The Private Messaging System ( PM's ) must not to be used for spamming or advertizing; nor is it to be used in a disruptive manner deemed inappropriate by the site Admin or the Moderators

7. Excessive promotion of web sites, businesses, products or your discus for sale is not allowed on the main forum; however, sensible promotion is allowed in the Sponsors forum - by the offical DPH sponsors!

8. Rules can be changed without notice by the site Admin / moderators!

9. If in dissagreement with a moderator, do not argue with the moderator, instead contact site Admin with your concerns. Look at contact page for e-mail addresses

10. Breaking any of the listed rules will result in a suspension of ability to post without review of that post ( Moderated status ) or ban of membership to this site. Period of time determined at a meeting of the Moderators and site Admin.
